Hey friend!
Not only is it a new month, but it’s a new year. The past year has been a blast in the world of art and music making, especially within this amazing community we’ve created. I can’t express how grateful I am that so many of my favorite artists and friends in the scene have joined me each month in these challenges. It also makes me very happy to see new artists showing up. To me, that speaks to an atmosphere of inclusivity and openness, which is precisely the intention.
A total of 94(!) pieces have been created for these challenges so far. I didn’t realize there were actually that many. Some of my favorite works by the artists I love have been produced as a result of these.
I’m very excited for the year ahead. As you may know, I created these as challenges that I personally want to take. Some of them might be in the service of a larger project I’m working on and some might be one-off ideas that I want to explore.
For this month, I want to set myself up for personal success. What better way to do that than by channeling and solidifying my intentions through a piece of art/music?
This is what I’ll do, and I invite you to join me.
Please note the change for tagging your pieces on social media. X is trying to get rid of hashtags (#), so the algo will hurt your reach if you use them.

LWAC ✅
The Challenge
Make an abstract artwork or music piece (or both) based on this theme:
The Year Ahead
This can be interpreted in several ways. A few ideas:
You can think about how you want this year to look and feel in your life, or in the world, and make a piece through that lens.
You can get specific about an intention or goal for this year and channel it into a piece that serves as a symbol of manifestation. There’s no requirement to share your goal. It can remain abstract and private if that’s what you prefer.
You could approach it as a way to comment on how you think the world, or your life, might look. It could be serious, satirical, or whatever you want.
Interpret the theme however you see fit.
Post your piece on X or Warpcast any time up until the deadline.
Add LWAC to your post, tag me, or DM me so that I can find your work.
Deadline: Sunday, January 19th (end of day for all time zones)
All works will be featured in this Artletter in a follow-up post. The deadline is only for those who would like their work featured. Otherwise, it is an ongoing challenge.
Feel free to mint your work on any platform, but there is no obligation to mint. I will be participating by writing a piece of music, but will not be minting mine yet because it’s part of a larger personal project that I’ll release in the near future. I will do my best to collect any minted works.
The abstract realm invites us to explore beyond the tangible, to uncover layers of thought and feeling that words alone cannot express. It is in this delicate balance between mystery and intention that art finds its purpose: to awaken, to provoke, and to connect.
I’m excited to see how this theme inspires you.
Feel free to reach out to me at any time on X, Warpcast, or in the comments below.
See you on the other side.
